November Home Sales Figures Released

The latest home sales figures find the Columbus area continuing its momentum despite a decline statewide.

The Columbus Realtors trade association says 2,465 homes were sold in its multi-county region last month. That’s a 3.1 percent increase from November 2018 and keeps 2019’s total sales on pace to be higher than last year’s. The median sale price of a home in central Ohio now stands at $210,000, up nearly 8 percent from 2018. The average sale price is also up 6 percent from last year at $241,810. Columbus recently made a list of top ten markets expected to outperform in the next 3-5 years.

November sales statewide reached 11,672, a 1.4 percent decline from the same month a year ago. But the Ohio Association of Realtors says sales activity through the first 11 months of 2019 has improved slightly compared to the same time frame last year. The average home price of $190,476 reflects a 6.5 percent increase compared to November 2018.

Nationally, November home sales declined 1.7 percent from October, but the National Association of Realtors says sales are up 2.7 percent from a year ago.
