Ohio Senate Votes To Make Juneteenth A Paid Holiday

The Ohio Senate has approved a bill to make Juneteenth a paid state holiday. Juneteenth is held every year in remembrance of the 1865 announcement in Texas by Union General Gordon Granger that slavery had been abolished in the United States.  The bill now goes to the Ohio House.
