A Columbus Scioto High School student has been charged with improperly discharging a firearm in a school safety zone.
Authorities say 18-year-old Adan Abdullahi could face additional charges. Columbus police responded to a report of shots fired in the school building at around 8:30 this morning. Chief Kim Jacobs says police apprehended Abdullahi less than 30 minutes later.
Jacobs says there were no injuries. Columbus City Schools Superintendent Dan Good praised the quick action of the principal, faculty and staff at Scioto as well as authorities. The school serves emotionally-challenged children in grades 6 through 12.
