Report: North Korea Demanded Money For Otto Warmbier's Care

Associated Press

The Washington Post reports North Korea insisted the U.S. pay 2 million dollars in medical costs in 2017 before it released detained Cincinnati college student Otto Warmbier while he was in a coma.

A U.S. envoy sent to North Korea to retrieve the student signed an agreement to pay the money on instructions passed down from President Trump. The Post says the U.S. did not pay the money at least through 2017 and that it is unclear whether it paid it later.
