Intersections: Billy Ray, Probing Media Ethics on Film
The 2003 film Shattered Glass explores the story of Stephen Glass, a journalist caught fabricating stories for The New Republic. Director Billy Ray drew inspiration from another cinematic exploration of journalism ethics: All the President's Men. It's the latest story in Intersections, a series on artists and their inspirations. NPR's Elizabeth Blair reports.

Funny Man Jonathan Winters Dies
He rose to fame in the 1960s with frequent appearances on The Tonight Show and roles in such movies as It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. In the '80s, he was on TV's Mork & Mindy. Winters' comedy albums are considered to be classics. He was 87.

Patient Vigilance Can Help Thwart Errors In Doctors' Offices
Of nearly 11,000 malpractice claims paid on behalf of doctors in 2009, some 43 percent were for errors in outpatient settings. Diagnostic errors were the most common problem leading to malpractice payments for outpatients.
