Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will move out of its longtime home in Hilliard to a new facility near Indianapolis.
The company confirmed yesterday the relocation to a new 13-acre, 100-thousand-square-foot headquarters in Zionsville, Indiana that will feature office space along with research, development, and manufacturing resources.
Founded in 1992 by Central Ohio native and former Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal, the team absorbed Hilliard-based Truesports Racing and later opened a second shop in Brownsburg, Indiana.
In the late 1990s the team added investors David Letterman and Mike Lanigan, and has since won 25 races including this year's Indianapolis 500.
The company expects to break ground on its new headquarters later this year and have the facility fully operational by spring 2022.
