New Year's Eve

8pm - Toast Of The Nation

An NPR tradition every New Year's Eve since the 1970s, Toast of the Nation is the perfect audio complement for the occasion. It's festive jazz you can party to, all night long. Hear sets from Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, Hiromi, Sunny Jain and Lizz Wright.

New Year's Day

8am - The Emergence of John Prine

Spotlighting the early career and musical journey of the beloved songwriter and performer John Prine who passed away in April 2020. It was produced by music historian Paul Ingles with the help of a panel of musicians and music writers. Commentators include Bonnie Raitt, Sara Watkins, Mark Kemp, Beverly Keel, Peter Case, Holly Gleason, Paul Zollo, Bonnie Raitt, Peter Cooper and John Kruth. Also, archival recordings of John Prine through the years are included.

10am - Jonathan Edwards at the Fur Peace Ranch

Singer-songwriter Jonathan Edwards returns to the Fur Peace Ranch for a concert recorded August 27, 2022.

11am - Dave Alvin at the Fur Peace Ranch

Singer-songwriter Dave Alvin fronts his band in a concert recorded in performance at the Fur Peace Ranch July 1, 2023.

12pm - The 2023 Musician’s Memorial Special

Music Specials producer Paul Ingles offers the thoughtful, heart-felt, year-end compendium program that allows us all to honor many of the music greats lost to us in the last 12 months, including Tina Turner, Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Sinead O'Connor, Jimmy Buffett, Ahmad Jamal, David Crosby and many more.

2pm - The Last Year in the Life of The Beatles

A two-hour special that chronologically follows The Beatles through 1969 and 1970 as they record their final tracks, struggle with their company, squabble with each other, pursue other interests, and ultimately split apart.
