Columbus, Ohio has always been a place for great music and musicians, especially jazz. Over the past 20-30 years, we have lost those very establishments and venues that supported our local musicians. At one time, we had an organization called "The Columbus Jazz Society", which has since disbanded. Our desire and hope is to generate enough interest by attempting to provide a place where our current; old and young alike striving musicians can once again gather in a common area to provide music for jazz enthusiasts as well as nurture a place to horn our talents. A place where we can learn from others, shadow our mentors, and possibly perform alongside them. Hopefully this will be just the first of many regularly scheduled Open Jazz Jam Sessions held at this location. As normal, a house band will be available for the first set, then open for all other willing musicians; however, they must provide their own instruments and equipment. There will be a required sign-up sheet to perform in the remaining sets. There is no cover for musicians performing; however, a minimum charge of $10.00 will be asked of all non-performers to support this venture and future scheduled sessions.
