The state’s highest court has suspended Marc Dann’s law license for six months. In a unanimous opinion by the court, Dann was found to be engaging in conduct that adversely reflected on his fitness to practice law. The court adopted findings by a disciplinary board that found Dann failed to disclose reimbursement from his campaign committee on his financial disclosure forms. The panel also took issue with Dann for failing to disclose that a campaign contributor paid more than 20 thousand dollars to lease a private jet that transported the former attorney general and his family to a seminar in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dann, himself, refused to do an interview with Ohio Public Radio on this subject. But in a written statement, Michael Harshman, one of Dann’s law firm partners spoke on behalf of the office. Harshman said the firm has been upfront with clients about the possibility of this decision and added he’s confident in the practice’s ability to continue to successfully represent clients. During Dann’s suspension, his name will be taken off the law firm.
