Muslim Workers Claim They Were Fired For Praying

18 Somali workers who are of the Muslim faith have filed federal complaints against Westerville-based logistics company Excel, claiming they were fired for praying at work. The local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic relations says the firm is accused of denying requests to adjust break times to accommodate prayer or to allow employees to take unpaid prayer breaks. The council has filed complaints on behalf of the workers with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
