Blackwell To Maintain Police Staffing Levels

Cincinnati's new police chief says he is looking forward to assuming the job this month and is committed to maintaining staffing levels. Former Deputy Columbus Police Chief Jeff Blackwell says the 53 percent increase in Cincinnati homicides this year will be a major focus of his new administration. Blackwell, who was introduced to the media this week, says he does not expect any widespread changes in the department.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
