Prison Guard Resigns Following Inmate Suicide

A guard at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution has resigned after the state found falsified logs documenting checks on a death row inmate who later committed suicide. 19-year-old Clay Putnam and another guard were put on paid leave after the August 4th suicide of Billy Slagle days before his scheduled execution.The State Highway Patrol says no criminal charges are planned.
