Franklin County Auditor Clarence Mingo has announced he has Parkinson's Disease. The 41-year-old Republican says symptoms showed up following his military service during the Persian Gulf war of the early 1990s, and he recently received an official diagnosis. Mingo says he plans to run for another term next fall. The Republican has been considered a rising star in Ohio politics. He attracted national attention in 2012 when -- as the only African American in the state's delegation -- he called a close to the GOP National Convention in Tampa, Florida.
