Case Of Dumping Fracking Wastewater Scheduled For April Trial

The former senior official of a Youngstown wastewater company charged with violating the federal Clean Water Act goes on trial April 8th. 62-year-old Ben Lupo of Hardrock Excavating LLC has a final pre-trial conference scheduled for March 24th. Authorities say Lupo ordered an employee to repeatedly dump thousands of gallons of fracking wastewater intended for an injection well into a storm sewer. Lupo and the company have pleaded not guilty. 34-year-old employee Michel Guesman entered a guilty plea in August.
