Weekly Jobless Claims In Ohio Decline

The Labor Department says the number of Ohioans filing claims for unemployment insurance benefits fell by nearly 14 hundred last week, due to fewer layoffs in transportation and manufacturing. Ohio had the 13th largest decline out of the 50 states. Nationally, claims rose by 14 thousand last week to a seasonally adjusted 348 thousand. The department says applications have been steady in recent weeks, though hiring declined in January and February.
