Indicted State Lawmaker Will Now Be Tried This Fall

Ohiohousegop.blogspot.com

A judge today set a November 17th trial date for Republican State Representative Peter Beck. He is charged with more than 50 counts of fraud and theft for allegedly misleading investors about a company's financial status and using their money for personal gain. The 61-year-old has denied the allegations and rejected calls to resign. His former business partner, John Fussner, has agreed to testify against Beck. Fussner pleaded guilty to charges of selling unregistered securities in an insolvent company in exchange for prosecutors dropping six other charges. Beck's attorney says he may request a bench trial instead of a jury trial.
