Voters Approve More Than Two-Thirds Of School Money Issues

The Ohio School Boards Association says voters this week approved 69 percent of the school funding levies on their ballots. 102 funding levies were approved while 46 were rejected, consistent with statewide results in previous elections. The association's Damon Asbury says it's typically an uphill battle to get new or additional money approved, but he's pleased with the overall results.

Asbury says it takes districts two to three times to pass new money requests. He says districts with measures on the ballot that failed need to determine why voters rejected them. He expects many will go back to voters in November.
