The Ohio Green Party says it has achieved a first by qualifying a gubernatorial ticket for the general election through a write-in election. Anita Rios and Columbus-area activist Bob Fitrakis say primary election results have been certified in each of Ohio's 88 counties, placing them on the November ballot. The two gathered petition signatures last winter when state lawmakers passed a bill containing new restrictions on minor party ballot access. Rios and Fitrakis were unable to gather the 500 signatures needed, so supporters launched a last-minute write-in campaign.
