The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency says no contamination was detected following an oil refinery explosion and fire in Lima.
Agency spokeswoman Heidi Griesmer says the U.S. EPA, Allen County and Husky Energy tested for several contaminants and couldn't detect any outside the facility in Lima, about 80 miles northwest of Columbus. Griesmer said Sunday that tests were done for benzene, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen cyanide, among others substances. Griesmer says the fire at the Husky Lima Refinery was put out about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. She says the state EPA is overseeing continued monitoring by the company. Husky Energy spokesman Mel Duvall said Sunday that damage assessment continues.
