A new analysis by the non-partisan Center for Public Integrity shows Republicans in the Ohio Legislature made more direct donations to state-level elections in 2014 than the state Democratic party made to all its candidates combined. The analysis shows direct donations of 3.17 million dollars by the Ohio House GOP's campaign committee, 3.12 million by the Ohio Senate's GOP campaign committee, and 3.1 million by the Ohio Democratic Party. The analysis covered money given to candidates, parties and outside groups. The Ohio Republican Party topped Ohio's direct donor list at more than 9 million dollars . Rounding out the state's top 5 was Republican Governor John Kasich's campaign, which gave almost 1.8 million in direct donations, all to the state GOP party.
