Thompson Extradition Delayed

Associated Press

A treasure hunter from Columbus accused of cheating investors out of their share of gold recovered from a sunken ship remains behind bars in Florida. 62-year-old Tommy Thompson has not formally hired an attorney licensed to defend him in federal court, so a hearing to confirm his identity and seek his extradition to Ohio was  delayed yesterday until next week. Thompson last week said he has a variety of health problems that could be exacerbated if he returns to Ohio. Thompson's longtime companion, Alison Antekeier, was denied bond and ordered held pending an extradition hearing.
