Columbus Recreation and Parks Director Alan McKnight is retiring on May 31 after more than 38 years with the city. The 61-year-old took over for Wayne Roberts in January 2007, who had resigned after an investigation was launched for signing fake time sheets for a woman he with whom he had a relationship. Roberts and the woman later pleaded guilty to charges of theft and tampering with records. The city wants a new director in place by June 1.
