Husted Finds 145 Improperly Registered Voters

Republican Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted says he's found another 145 people who are registered to vote but shouldn’t be, because they are not U.S. citizens. Husted  says 27 of them cast ballots, but none voted in very close contests. When added up with the numbers of non-citizens found in other recent reviews, that brings the total number to 436. Husted admits that’s a small number compared with the 7.7 million registered voters in Ohio, but he says it’s important.

Husted says the undocumented immigrants could be blocked from attaining citizenship because registering and voting are felonies. He’s sent letters to those who didn’t vote so they can remove themselves from the rolls without prosecution, but those who cast ballots will be turned over to the Attorney General.
