Boy Scouts Dismiss Openly Gay Leader

A former Westerville Boy Scout leader is joining the fight to make the organization more inclusive for the LGBT community.  Brian Peffly has created a local chapter of Scouts for Equality after he was expelled in March from the Boy Scouts of America for being openly gay.  The Eagle Scout and long time volunteer says the group is pushing the organization to allow gay leaders after it opened its membership to boys of any sexual orientation.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
