Slain OSU Student Gets Posthumous Degree

The Ohio State University student killed while walking in the downtown area last year has been awarded her degree posthumously. The university presented Stephanie Fibelkorn's family with her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering yesterday, five months after she was struck and killed by a school bus during a crash on Broad Street. The engineering faculty voted unanimously to grant the degree, saying she earned it before the tragedy.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
