Existing home sales increased on the local, state and national levels in May. The Columbus Realtors trade association says existing home sales in its multi-county region rose by nearly 18 percent over April, with more than 29 hundred properties changing hands. The group says sales this year are up 8.3 percent from this point a year ago. The Ohio Association of Realtors says existing home sales rose in May by 6.2 percent from the same month a year ago. The National Association of Realtors says existing home sales rose 5.1 percent from April to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 5.35 million. The group credits an improving economy and low mortgage rates.
