Portman Continues To Enjoy Campaign Funding Advantage

WCBE Files

Campaign finance reports in the U.S. Senate race show the Republican incumbent has outraised his Democratic challengers. Rob Portman raised 2.9 million dollars in the second quarter and has 10 million dollars on hand. Democratic former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has 1.2 million on hand. Democratic Cincinnati City Council member P.G. Sittenfeld has not released on hand or second quarter figures, but raised 750 thousand dollars in the first quarter. The deadline to file reports is July 15.
