Amid Biden Visit And Federal Scrutiny, OSU Annouces New Anti-Sexual Assault Initiatives

Ohio State University says it is undertaking several initiatives to reduce sexual assaults on campus, including mandatory awareness training for all freshmen next year. The efforts also include online training for all students, the hiring of an additional sexual violence prevention coordinator and more advocates to support students. A task force of students, staff and faculty will brainstorm new ways to prevent and respond to cases. The school is one of many that have been under scrutiny of the federal government for the handling of sexual assault cases. Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to speak on the issue at OSU later today.
