The unemployment rate in Columbus and central Ohio fell by six-tenths of a point to 3.6 percent in August. The Ohio Department of Job and Family services says that 's typical for the month as businesses reduce their temporary summer workforce. Delaware, Madison and Union counties had rates at or below 3.5 percent, the lowest in the region. Licking County had an unemployment rate of 3.8 percent. Perry County had the highest rate it the region at 5.1 percent.
