The Libertarian Party of Ohio and other minor political parties are asking the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati to reconsider a federal district judge's determination that Ohio's law imposing new ballot access limits on minor political parties did not violate the constitution. Judge Michael Watson rejected the party's arguments in March and October on different aspects of the 2014 law that set set stiffer criteria for minor party ballot qualification and access. Libertarians and their allies in the Green and other minor parties maintain the law effectively eliminated all minor-party candidates from 2014 primary ballots and unfairly disadvantaged third parties.
