Three Killed In Hilltop Home Shooting

A couple and a 7-year child are dead, and another child is critically injured, after a intruder reportedly burst into their Hilltop home.

Columbus police spokesperson Sergeant Rich Weiner says a woman made a 911 call shortly after 5 pm, saying that an intruder had shot her husband, and was still inside the home.  Weiner says three officers who responded to the call shot the alleged intruder after a short chase near the home in the 100 block of South Terrace Avenue.  The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.  A second child discovered in the home was critically injured, and was taken to a hospital.  No other information is being released at this time.
