Members of the Columbus firefighters union have approved a new three-year contract agreement with the city. Firefighters will get 3.5 percent raises in the first two years, and a raise of 3 percent in the final year. They will pay 12 percent more for health insurance. The deal was recommended by a fact-finder after the union rejected a proposal last year in disputes over health insurance and pay. The deal is retroactive and expires in late 2017.
