An 18-year-old Marion man authorities say posed as a state senator visiting a Wyandot County high school says he was making a point about school security. Izaha Akins says he was showing rural schools don't think they are at risk for security breaches, but they can happen. Mohawk Local School District officials say he visited the high school in December claiming to be a lawmaker replacing Republican State Senator David Burke. The youth got a school tour and spoke to a class. Officials realized they had been duped when Burke showed up later to speak as scheduled. Akins is charged with telecommunications fraud and impersonating a peace officer.
