Authorities say two people were killed when a small, experimental plane crashed in a cornfield Friday just outside of Springfield. The Ohio Highway Patrol says it was a single-engine plane registered out of Detroit. The victims are identified as 81-year-old Levon King and 85-year-old Gloria King, a husband and wife from Dearborn, Michigan. The Federal Aviation Administration says it lost radio and radar contact with the plane and alerted the patrol late Friday morning. Clark County Sheriff's dispatchers received 911 calls from people who said they heard a crash and possibly saw smoke. The Detroit Free Press reports Levon King was the former Mayor of Allen Park, Michigan and former administrator for the city of Southgate, Michigan.
