Man Convicted In 2015 Union County Shooting Gets 20 Years In Prison

Union County Sheriff's Office

A Mount Victory man will serve 20 years in prison for killing a man last year during a robbery. 30-year-old Joseph Magana pleaded guilty to murder and other charges in the February 2105 death of 67-year-old Arthur Burchett. Magana's accomplice, 28-year-old Amber Parish, is awaiting trial. Prosecutors say the two robbed and killed Burchett at the victim's Askins Road home, stealing two guns that were later sold in exchange for drugs.
