"The Old Farmer's Almanac" predicting a mixed bag of weather this winter in central Ohio. It predicts warmer than normal temperatures with above-normal precipitation, using a formula of sunspot activity and climate cycles. Cold snaps with heavy snow are predicted in late December, mid-January and late February. Meteorologists say the prediction could come true if a La Nina system in the Pacific Ocean develops as expected.
