County Hires Consultant To Probe Dog Shelter Distemper Outbreak

franklincountydogs.com

Franklin County officials say an investigation will soon begin into the distemper outbreak at the county Dog Shelter. County Commissioners voted yesterday to hire a consultant who will find out how the illness spread and improve the shelter's response. Critics have said canine euthanizations began several days after the first signs of the disease were detected last month. Nearly 100 dogs were euthanized to stop the spread of the disease.
