Columbus Man Charged With Supporting Islamic State Terrorists

U.S. Attorney's Office

Federal prosecutors say a Columbus man accused of trying to join the Islamic State group was arrested at the airport Monday while attempting to board a flight to Libya. 20-year-old Aaron Daniels allegedly wired 250 dollars to an Islamic State group operative in January, and told an undercover informant about his interest in traveling overseas to commit jihad. Daniels made an initial court appearance Monday, where a judge scheduled a Thursday morning bond hearing.
