Tyre King Accomplice Pleads Guilty To Robbery

Columbus Division of Police

The accomplice of Tyre King has pleaded guilty to a robbery that happened just before police shot and killed King earlier this year. 19-year-old Demetrius Braxton will serve 3 years in prison and  testify against others as part of a plea deal. Braxton says King had a BB gun that looked like a real firearm and wanted to rob someone.  Police say the African-American boy was shot after he ran from a white officer and pulled what appeared to be a gun. The family attorney says King was fleeing and wasn't a threat.  The case will go to a grand jury following a police investigation to determine whether officers will face charges.
