A Columbus City Council candidate has dropped out of the race after her felony theft conviction came to light. 31-year-old Kathryn Hille, a replacement candidate for former State Representative Marian Harris, pleaded guilty in 2013 to a theft charge. She was given a suspended six-month prison sentence and ordered to pay more than 30 thousand dollars restitution. Hille was endorsed by the progressive group Yes We Can,which is seeking to get the big money out of local politics. The group has rescinded its endorsement.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
