The German Village Society is asking the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to stop Columbia Gas from moving gas meters from the inside to the outside of 16 hundred buildings. The property owners' group says the moves are unnecessary, could hurt home values, and pose safety hazards. Columbia has declined comment. It is in the midst of a 25-year program to replace old underground pipelines statewide.
