Hilliard City Council has approved an ordinance prohibiting smoking on all city-owned land including parks, parking lots and buildings. City officials say the measure was enacted after a request by the Franklin County Board of Health. The ban includes the use of e-cigarettes. Violators will face misdemeanor charges and fines of up to 250 dollars. The measure is expected to take effect in December.
