Local Couple Sentenced In Cemetery Scam

The owners of a Delaware County cemetery have been sentenced to prison time for cheating more than 70 customers out of  thousands of dollars for services not rendered. 54-year-old Theodore Martin will serve five years and 47-year-old Arminda Martin will serve four-and-a-half years on theft charges. Theywill also serve three years' probation and must pay 183 thousand dollars restitution. The couple blamed the crimes on financial problems. The cemetery, Fairview Memorial Park, is in receivership.
