Anthem Says It Will No Longer Cover Emergency Room Visits For Non-Emergencies

twitter.com

Health Insurer Anthem says it'll no longer cover emergency room visits by Ohioans with non-emergency health problems.  The insurer blames an increase in such cases this year.  Seasonal allergies are among the top reasons people checked in despite a statewide campaign to steer patients to primary care doctors. The new policy also affects Indiana and New Hampshire. Anthem says its Medicare customers won't be affected. The insurer says the goal is to encourage less-costly medical settings for routine care to keep costs down.
