Former CCS Employee Sentenced For Stealing Bus Passes

Franklin County Sheriff's Office

A former Columbus City Schools employee has pleaded guilty to stealing bus passes meant for low-income students.

A judge Thursday sentenced 63-year-old Mary Cockrell to time served and 62 hundred dollars restitution. The former transportation department employee stole 100 Central Ohio Transit Authority bus passes in March. The were advertised for sale online at a discount by Jason Morris, who was dating Cockrell's daughter. Morris has pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.
