Work is scheduled to begin today on a project to build the first single-family home in Columbus with shipping containers.
The non-profit group called Nothing Into Something Real Estate plans to break ground on a two-story house built of five shipping containers on Bassett Avenue on the northeast side. A 25-unit apartment complex built with shipping containers is already open on Old Leonard Avenue. The group says such projects help fill a shortage of affordable housing.
