Charitable Foundation To Pay Mortgage For Family Of Slain Westerville Officer

tunnel2towers.org

A New York-based foundation says it will pay off the mortgage on the home of fallen Westerville police officer Eric Joering.  The Tunnel to Towers Foundationsays it wants to help Joering's wife and three young daughters.  The family of Stephen Siller established the foundation after the firefighter's death on 9/11. Following the death of a first responder, the group often covers the housing costs for families with children 14 and younger. Frank Siller heads the foundation, and made the announcement yesterday.

The foundation also builds smart technology homes for military members who have been catastrophically injured. Joering and fellow officer Anthony Morelli were killed Saturday after responding to a domestic dispute.
