Westerville police have identified a 30-year-old man as a suspect in Saturday's fatal shootings of two officers, and released reports showing authorities have had several dealings with him, some involving alleged domestic violence.

Police late Saturday confirmed the suspect is Quentin Smith. Authorities released incident reports showing police had been to his home or had dealings with him several times since 2017. In a November 29 incident, police say his wife, 33-year-old Candace Smith, asked about protection orders because she and her husband weren't getting along. She accused him threatening to kill her, their daughter and himself. She told police he had a gun.  The suspect was taken into custody Saturday after being shot and wounded. Police say officers Eric Joering, age 39, and Anthony Morelli, age 54, were shot around noon after responding to a 911 hang-up from a Crosswind Drive home that indicated a"potential domestic situation." Chief Joe Morbitzer says both officers had several years of experience.
Ohio Governor John Kasich, who lives with his family in a nearby township, and President Trump both sent tweets asking for prayers for the officers' families and colleagues.
