The Ohio Department of Health says nearly 11 thousand people have been hospitalized for influenza this season.
Department records show Cuyahoga County has had nearly double the number of flu hospitalizations thru February 10 as Franklin County. Cuyahoga County Health Department data shows 30 flu-related deaths this season. Three children have died statewide during the flu season that began October 1. The total of 10,785 statewide flu-related hospitalizations thus far is well above Ohio's five-year average. Health officials encourage people to get a flu shot.
