Columbus-based Battelle say it will lay off 260 central Ohio employees and another 90 around the country as part of a cost-cutting effort.
Battelle officials say they have trouble winning public and private sector contracts because their bids are not competitive. The layoffs of management and administrative workers take effect this week. The organization employs more than 19 hundred central Ohioans.
